Report of 4th Vocation Retreat in 2014

The 4th Vocation Retreat was held from Saturday, February 14th until Sunday, 15th.

Three people participated this time, for one it was the first time.

The theme of this year "Speak to me, Lord. Your servant is listening"・・・was deepened even more.

  The first talk:
Gospel According to John (13:1−20)
All moved into silence creating a quiet space filled with the spirit of God. Father Yamauchi invited them to listen to the words of Jesus.

"Before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end...Jesus rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples'feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded."

The guidance of the Father continued so that all could feel His heart, which "loved to the end," embracing everything within the heart of each.

 The Second Talk
         Gospel According to John(19:17-27)

"There stood by the cross of Jesus His Mother, and His mother's sister. Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the diseiple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, 'Woman, behold your son! Then He said to the disciple, 'Behold your mother!' And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home."

John deeply understood the words of Jesus. It was because he listened to the word of Jesus with his whole being.
The priest concluded that when we pray "Speak to me, Lord. Your servant is listening," Jesus will tell us what we should do.

In the explanation of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, they added ministry of the Sisters in Nepal who are involved in educational activities as their proclamation of the good news.

Evening prayer
The prayer was for peace, remembering Mr. Kenji Goto who acted with unselfish heart butwas murbered, and the materials of articles of poor children, they prayed. The song "Peace of Christ" was quietly repeated.
